Welcome to TidyTime. These Terms and Conditions govern your use of the TidyTime platform and services. By accessing or using our platform, you agree to be bound by these terms.
Important Notice: TidyTime operates as a marketplace platform connecting clients directly with independent professional contractors. Contractors create and manage their own service listings. We are not a direct service provider. The service contract and all payments for services are directly between you and the contractor.
1. Definitions
- "Platform" refers to the TidyTime website and associated services.
- "We", "Us", "Our" refers to TidyTime.
- "You", "User" refers to the person or entity using our Platform.
- "Client" refers to users seeking professional services.
- "Contractor" refers to independent service providers registered on our Platform.
- "Services" refers to electrical, plumbing, solar installation, cleaning, maintenance, and other professional services offered through the Platform.
2. Nature of TidyTime's Service
2.1 Platform Role
TidyTime operates as a marketplace platform that connects Clients directly with independent professional Contractors. We provide the platform where Contractors can showcase their services and Clients can browse and contact them directly, but we:
- Do NOT directly provide electrical, plumbing, solar, cleaning, or maintenance services
- Do NOT employ the Contractors listed on our Platform
- Do NOT assign or match Contractors to Client requests
- Do NOT control the day-to-day operations of Contractors
- Do NOT supervise how Contractors perform their services
- Do NOT set or control pricing for services (Contractors set their own rates)
2.2 Independent Contractor Relationship
All Contractors on our Platform are independent service providers. Contractors create, manage, and price their own service listings. The service contract for any work is directly between the Client and the Contractor they choose to contact. TidyTime is not a party to that service contract.
3. Contractor Registration and Verification
3.1 Contractor Profiles
Contractors on our Platform register independently and create their own profiles, including:
- Business details and contact information
- Professional qualifications and certifications
- Service offerings with descriptions and pricing
- Photos and portfolio examples
- Service areas and availability
3.2 Optional Verification
We offer optional verification services for Contractors who wish to display a "Verified" badge. This may include:
- Verification of professional qualifications and certifications
- Background checks where applicable and legally permissible
- Review of work history and references
- Assessment of technical credentials
3.3 No Guarantee
TidyTime does not guarantee:
- The quality, safety, or legality of services provided by Contractors
- The accuracy of Contractor profiles, credentials, or self-reported information
- That Contractors will meet your specific expectations
- That no issues will arise during or after service delivery
- The availability or responsiveness of Contractors
Important: Clients are solely responsible for evaluating and selecting Contractors. We recommend reviewing contractor profiles, ratings, and reviews before making contact.
4. User Obligations
4.1 Account Registration
For Clients: Account registration is optional. You may browse contractor profiles and submit service requests without creating an account. However, creating an account allows you to track requests, save favorite contractors, and manage your communication history.
For Contractors: Account registration is required to offer services on the Platform.
If you choose to create an account, you must:
- Provide accurate, current, and complete information
- Maintain the security of your account credentials
- Notify us immediately of any unauthorized use
- Be at least 18 years old or have parental/guardian consent
We also offer Google OAuth sign-in as a faster alternative to manual registration.
4.2 Prohibited Activities
Users must NOT:
- Violate any applicable laws or regulations
- Provide false or misleading information
- Impersonate another person or entity
- Harass, abuse, or harm other users or Contractors
- Attempt to circumvent the Platform to avoid fees
- Use the Platform for any illegal or unauthorized purpose
- Interfere with or disrupt the Platform's operation
5. Service Requests and Direct Contact
5.1 How the Platform Works
- Clients browse contractor profiles and service listings on the Platform
- Clients submit service requests directly to specific Contractors they choose
- Contractors receive lead notifications via email and their dashboard
- Contractors contact Clients directly to discuss details, pricing, and scheduling
- All subsequent communication and arrangements are between Client and Contractor
5.2 Service Contract
When a Client submits a service request to a Contractor, any resulting service contract is directly between the Client and the Contractor. TidyTime is not a party to this contract and is not responsible for:
- The actual performance of services
- Any disputes arising from service delivery
- Property damage or personal injury
- Non-completion or delays in service
- Pricing negotiations or payment disputes
- Service quality or workmanship
5.3 Cancellation and Changes
- Cancellation policies and terms are set by individual Contractors
- Clients should discuss cancellation terms directly with their chosen Contractor
- Contractors may decline service requests at their discretion
- TidyTime is not responsible for enforcing cancellation policies
6. Pricing and Payments for Services
6.1 Contractor-Set Pricing
All service pricing is set by individual Contractors. Contractors display their pricing information on their service listings, which may include:
- Fixed prices for specific services
- Hourly rates
- Price ranges (e.g., R500 - R1,500)
- Call-out fees
- Emergency service multipliers
- Package deals and contract options
- "Quote required" or "Site visit required" for complex jobs
Important: Displayed prices are indicative only. Final pricing is negotiated directly between Client and Contractor.
6.2 Service Payments
All payments for services are made directly between Client and Contractor. Payment terms, methods, and schedules are agreed upon by both parties. TidyTime:
- Does NOT process payments for services
- Does NOT hold funds in escrow
- Is NOT responsible for payment disputes
- Does NOT guarantee payment to Contractors or service delivery to Clients
6.3 Contractor Subscription Fees
Contractors pay subscription fees to TidyTime for platform access and lead generation. Subscription tiers include:
- Free Tier: Limited monthly leads and basic features
- Paid Tiers: Increased lead limits, featured placement, verified badges, and premium features
Subscription payments are processed through secure payment gateways including PayFast, Ozow, and Zapper. Subscription terms, pricing, and features are detailed on the subscription management page.
7. Contractor Responsibilities
7.1 Service Listings
Contractors are solely responsible for:
- Creating accurate and honest service listings
- Setting competitive and fair pricing
- Updating service availability and pricing
- Uploading appropriate photos and portfolio examples
- Providing accurate business and contact information
7.2 Lead Management
Contractors must:
- Respond to Client inquiries in a timely and professional manner
- Honor quoted prices or clearly communicate any changes
- Maintain professional communication with Clients
- Update lead status in their dashboard (new, contacted, converted, rejected)
- Respect monthly lead limits based on their subscription tier
7.3 Service Delivery
Contractors must:
- Possess appropriate qualifications, licenses, and certifications
- Maintain adequate insurance coverage (liability, professional indemnity)
- Comply with all applicable laws, regulations, and safety standards
- Deliver services in a professional and workmanlike manner
- Resolve disputes with Clients in good faith
- Not misrepresent their qualifications or experience
7.4 Prohibited Contractor Activities
Contractors must NOT:
- Request Clients to leave false or misleading reviews
- Create multiple accounts to circumvent subscription limits
- Copy or plagiarize other Contractors' service descriptions or photos
- Offer services they are not qualified or licensed to provide
- Attempt to circumvent the Platform to avoid subscription fees
- Engage in discriminatory practices against any Client
8. Limitation of Liability
8.1 Platform Availability
We strive to maintain Platform availability but do not guarantee uninterrupted access. We are not liable for:
- System downtime or technical issues
- Loss of data or information
- Inability to access the Platform
8.2 Service-Related Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, TidyTime is NOT liable for:
- Property Damage: Any damage to property caused by Contractors during service delivery
- Personal Injury: Any injury to persons caused by Contractor negligence or actions
- Service Quality: Poor quality, incomplete, or unsatisfactory services provided by Contractors
- Financial Loss: Any financial losses arising from Contractor actions or service outcomes
- Contractor Conduct: Unprofessional behavior, misconduct, or criminal actions by Contractors
- Regulatory Compliance: Contractor failure to comply with applicable laws or regulations
8.3 Maximum Liability Cap
In any event, our total liability to you for any claims arising from your use of the Platform shall not exceed the amount of fees you paid to TidyTime in the six (6) months preceding the claim.
9. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless TidyTime, its officers, directors, employees, and agents from any claims, damages, losses, liabilities, and expenses (including legal fees) arising from:
- Your use of the Platform
- Your violation of these Terms and Conditions
- Your violation of any rights of another party
- Services provided by Contractors you engage through the Platform
10. Insurance and Risk Management
10.1 Contractor Insurance
We encourage all Contractors to maintain appropriate insurance coverage, including:
- Public liability insurance
- Professional indemnity insurance
- Workers' compensation insurance where required
10.2 Client Responsibility
Clients are advised to:
- Verify Contractor insurance coverage before service commencement
- Maintain their own property insurance
- Supervise work being performed on their property
- Report any concerns immediately
11. Dispute Resolution
11.1 Platform Support
If disputes arise between Clients and Contractors, we encourage parties to:
- Attempt to resolve the matter directly and amicably
- Contact TidyTime support for mediation assistance
- Use our rating and review system to document experiences
11.2 Dispute Between Users and TidyTime
Any disputes with TidyTime should first be addressed through our customer support. If unresolved, disputes will be governed by South African law and subject to the jurisdiction of South African courts.
12. Intellectual Property
All content on the Platform, including text, graphics, logos, images, and software, is the property of TidyTime or its licensors and is protected by copyright and other intellectual property laws.
13. Privacy and Data Protection
Your use of the Platform is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which describes how we collect, use, and protect your personal information in compliance with the Protection of Personal Information Act (POPIA) and other applicable data protection laws.
14. Reviews and Ratings
14.1 Transparency
We maintain a transparent review and rating system to help users make informed decisions. Reviews must be:
- Honest and based on actual experiences
- Respectful and free from abusive language
- Relevant to the service provided
14.2 Content Moderation
We reserve the right to remove reviews that violate our policies or contain false, defamatory, or inappropriate content.
15. Termination
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your account if you:
- Violate these Terms and Conditions
- Engage in fraudulent or illegal activities
- Abuse the Platform or other users
- Provide false information
16. Changes to Terms
We may update these Terms and Conditions from time to time. We will notify users of material changes via email or Platform notification. Continued use of the Platform after changes constitutes acceptance of the new terms.
17. Governing Law
These Terms and Conditions are governed by the laws of the Republic of South Africa. Any disputes arising from these terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the South African courts.
18. Severability
If any provision of these Terms and Conditions is found to be invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions will continue in full force and effect.
19. Entire Agreement
These Terms and Conditions, together with our Privacy Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and TidyTime regarding your use of the Platform.

Acknowledgment: By using the TidyTime platform, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions. You understand that TidyTime is a marketplace platform where Contractors independently create and manage their services, and that service contracts and payments are directly between Clients and Contractors. TidyTime is not a service provider and is not responsible for the services delivered by Contractors.
